  Apparently the bride and groom had to fill all the cabins with people, or pay for empty ones. Maybe that is standard practice, but I was surprised.

  Went for a wedding. Great spot. Cabins are awesome. Hosts are super nice and accommodating. Bring some bug spray. You are pretty close to the bush so expect some bugs. The wedding dance barn is the best. Would recommend.

  The toilet facilities were good. A separate little building next to the barn with two separate washrooms. A large mirror stood outside for adjustments (I loved it).

  The honeymoon cabin, while containing a 10 person hot tub and a sauna, was super small (the sauna was like... a closet). Interesting.

  A shuttle was provided for guests staying at the Days Inn closer to Golden, so no one had to drive, except the shuttle pickup was half an hour late and the return times were not what we had been told.

  My husband and I got married at Hillside last June and it was amazing!!! Stef and Mark were so friendly and helpful throughout the whole process of planning the wedding and during the wedding weekend. We are not huge into wedding planning but Hillside made it so easy and stress free. They work closely with a catering company and a DJ who we also used and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a stress free day because they were awesome and took care of everything! We could not have asked for a more beautiful spot to get married! The ceremony overlooked the mountains and river and the reception space in the barn was rustic and beautiful. We decided not to bring in many decorations (only some flowers and a few other things) because the barn looked beautiful the way it was. The honeymoon suite felt cozy and inviting as did the rest of the cabins. All of our guest who stayed on site said they really enjoyed their accommodations. We played lawn games in the field outside the barn and had a BBQ the night before the wedding. We really enjoyed the fact that you could rent the whole facility for the weekend as it gives all your guests more time to meet before the wedding and allows you more time to mingle since the wedding day goes by so fast. Overall we had an awesome experience with Hillside and would recommend it to anyone looking to plan a stress free, fun and beautiful wedding!

  I stayed in one of the suites for a wedding and I enjoyed the location. It is nestled right in the mountains and you get some great views from all around the facilities. It was particularly fun because our group rented the entire place. The cabins themselves are pretty well stocked but they are a bit rustic if you are used to having everything in a kitchenette. I would recommend staying there if you are in the Golden area.

  My only complaint would be that the beds were fairly hard and could use a little more padding!

  There is a nice walk down to the river, but bring bug spray and do not reveal any skin! We were eaten alive. Also it was about 30°C during the 1pm outdoor ceremony so be prepared for sweating. There were fans running inside the barn so it was bearable.

  My friends got married here at the end of May and it was very beautiful. The ceremony location and the barn used for the reception/dinner/dancing/bar were wonderful. Perfect for a small wedding.

  Hillside Lodge and Chalets was amazing. The cabins are quaint and so great. The entire place is clean and kept so beautifully. The view from be wedding ceremony and our chalet deck was breath taking. The hall was beautiful as well.

  Everyone at the wedding was very mobile, but I could see people with wheelchairs having a difficult time since it was all hills and dirt paths and stairs into every building (including the barn and washrooms).
